Ingredients
1 lb lean ground beef
½ medium onion, finely chopped
¼ cup butter
½ tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp ranch seasoning
1 tbsp Au Jus seasoning (packet)
½ cup sliced pepperoncini peppers
¼ cup pepperoncini juice (from the jar)
½ cup low-sodium beef broth
Toasted buns (for serving)
Optional toppings: Monterey Jack cheese, coleslaw
Instructions
1. Brown the Beef:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat for about 10 minutes, or until the beef is browned. Drain any excess fat.
2. Add Flavor:
Stir in the butter, garlic powder, ranch seasoning, and Au Jus seasoning. Add the sliced pepperoncini and pepperoncini juice for a tangy kick.
3. Pour in Broth:
Add the beef broth and stir everything together.
4. Simmer to Thicken:
Allow the mixture to simmer and reduce, stirring occasionally, until it thickens to your desired consistency. The seasonings will naturally thicken the sauce.
5. Serve It Up:
Spoon the savory mixture onto toasted buns.
Optional serving ideas:
Top with Monterey Jack cheese for a creamy melt
Add coleslaw for crunch and brightness
Try it over rice or in a bowl for a no-bun version
