Bedford Electric Update: Due to the ongoing winter weather and ice accumulation on tree limbs across the area, Bedford Electric is experiencing numerous outages. Crews are fully aware of the situation and are working diligently to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. We appreciate your patience during this time. Stay safe, stay warm, and avoid any downed power lines—always assume they are live and dangerous.
Power Update (9:45 AM): A transmission line is down from the Centerville Station, causing the largest outage in our area. Crews are on-site and working to restore power, but there is currently no estimated time for restoration. We’ll provide updates as soon as more information is available.
Traffic Alert (10:25 AM): Due to power outages and winter weather conditions, some traffic lights may be out across the area.
⚠⃣ REMEMBER: When traffic lights are out, treat the intersection as a 4-WAY STOP:
First come, first go – Vehicles proceed in the order they arrive.
Yield to the right – If you arrive at the same time as another car, yield to the vehicle on your right.
Straight before turns – Vehicles going straight have the right of way over those turning left.
Stay cautious – Make eye contact, use your signals, and proceed slowly.
Power Update (11:05 AM): Most of downtown has power restored. Crews are still working hard to get the hospital back online.
Power Outage Update (11:55am): The hospital's power has been restored for about 15 minutes now. We're making steady progress on getting power back to the rest of the area. For those still without electricity, please know our crews are actively working to resolve the issues.
