Ingredients
2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
1 packet ranch seasoning mix
8 oz cream cheese, softened
½ cup chicken broth
Crumbled bacon, to taste
Shredded cheddar cheese, to taste
Buns of your choice
Optional toppings: hot sauce, sliced jalapeños
Instructions
1. Prepare the Slow Cooker:
Place the chicken breasts or thighs in the bottom of your slow cooker.
2. Season the Chicken:
Evenly sprinkle the ranch seasoning packet over the chicken.
3. Add Cream Cheese:
Spread the softened cream cheese over the seasoned chicken.
4. Pour in Broth:
Add the chicken broth to help everything cook down and stay moist.
5. Cook:
Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is fork-tender and easy to shred.
6. Shred and Mix:
Using two forks, shred the chicken right in the slow cooker. Stir well to mix the chicken with the creamy sauce.
7. Assemble the Sandwiches:
Pile the shredded chicken mixture onto your favorite buns. Top with crumbled bacon and a generous sprinkle of shredded cheddar.
8. Melt the Cheese:
Place the sandwiches under the broiler for a few minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly—keep a close eye to avoid burning.
9. Garnish and Serve:
Add your favorite toppings such as hot sauce or jalapeños for a little kick. Serve warm with your go-to side dish.
