Ingredients
1 lb ground meat of your choice (pork, beef, chicken, or venison)
Olive oil (for sautéing)
½ medium onion, diced (regular or green onion—or both)
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 medium carrot, julienned or coarsely shredded
3 cups green cabbage, very thinly sliced
1 tsp ground ginger (or use ginger paste)
¼ cup gluten-free soy sauce (or regular soy sauce)
2 tsp sesame oil
Optional: Sugar to taste
Green onions, for garnish
Sesame seeds, for garnish
Wonton crisps, for added crunch
Instructions
1. Cook the Meat:
In a large skillet over medium heat, drizzle in olive oil.
Add your ground meat and cook until browned and no longer pink.
Season with black pepper (skip the salt since soy sauce adds enough).
2. Add Onions and Garlic:
Stir in the diced onions and cook until softened.
Toss in the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
3. Add Veggies:
Mix in the shredded carrots and cook for 5–7 minutes, allowing the onion and carrot to soften.
Add in the thinly sliced cabbage and ground ginger, stirring well to combine.
4. Season:
Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil.
Add a small amount of sugar if you'd like to balance the savory flavors—taste and adjust as needed.
5. Build Your Bowl:
Spoon the veggie mixture into bowls.
Top with the seasoned ground meat.
Finish with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, and wonton crisps for a flavorful crunch.
